This exercise takes you from feet to head — slowly, without rushing. You simply direct your attention and notice. Nothing needs fixing. Takes 5–7 minutes.

How it works

The body scan

Moving attention sequentially through parts of the body — from feet to head — activates the parasympathetic nervous system and lowers cortisol. The body relaxes where you direct your attention.

When to use it

During exhaustion, anxiety, trouble falling asleep, or a feeling of disconnection from yourself. Also as a daily restoration practice — in the morning or before sleep.
